Chelsea Royal Diner in Brattleboro

I had a terrific strawberry sundae . vanilla ice cream and lots of strawberries and whipped cream.

Cute little diner! Too chilly inside! Need heat! Food was very good and also very good service!

We just got ice cream at the window. Sensible distancing, delicious flavors, and they stayed open slightly after hours to serve the people who arrived as we left.

The server was the energize bunnie! She brought us the best rueben sandwich with homemade rye bread! Then we had homemade hot apple pie with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. It was the best i have ever had!

Good food. Indoor seating with more extensive menu than the walk up window outside. We did enjoy our burgers & fries from the walk up. They were very good, although my order was incorrect. I overpaid for something I did not receive. Eating outside was very nice. Very inexpensive & Cute little diner.

Don't let the diner facade fool you, this is far from a "greasy spoon"! Menu selections include braised lamb shanks and grass fed short ribs and their "vegetable of the day" list has about 10 selections including kale, carrots, and roasted beets. You can pair this with a glass of wine. They also have diner comfort foods:Shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, and an amazing list of burgers! And with all of these menu choices each dish we've had has been amazing! We always leave very full and very satisfied!

A gem. Home cooked farm-to-table meals with a diner feel in a brisk but casual and laidback environment. Ever single thing I've tried has been delicious. My least favourite was the turkey gravy, but everything else was so tasty I cannot pick a favourite. I definitely recommend considering the weekly specials.There is a photo on the diner wall, it was taken years ago inside the diner. A great photo that shows the history of the place, you can even see the old menu prices! A $0.60 prime rib anyone?

Nice little dinner. Decent selection and friendly staff. I had the brisket special and was able to substitute broccoli for the baked beans. I would have preferred the brisket sans BBQ sauce but it was still good with the smokey flavor coming through. My kid's burger was a shade overcooked but was perfectly fine. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we'll likely be back again.

My son and I moved back to the area and we were looking for our "diner spot" we found it at Chelsea. Great selections, service, plenty of parking, CASH ONLY, they do have an ATM on site. Nice outdoor seating, the food is really good. The haddock and their tarter... delicious. My son loves the steak & eggs.

Opens early. Works for me as I am an early bird. This is completely New England with a lot of history. The Vermonter Omelette is great. It comes with hash browns instead of home fries which is much better. The rye toast in itself is good but was over buttered. The kitchen was just starting up so it took a little longer. The coffee is very good. The service is good here. Easy to get to from Brat.

Just like an AWESOME average stereotypical American diner, and I LOVE it! Amazing ice cream stand, great staff! Just a lovely place for food, ice cream, and everything else. Lovely diner.

What a great diner! Highly recommend... The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel at home. Make sure you bring cash! No debit/credit cards, and no out of state checks accepted. Still, this restaurant is absolutely worth the extra stop at the ATM.

Delicious food. Quick service. Cash only. The sitting was outside due to social distancing. But nice benches under the tree to relax and eat near the parking lot. We had fish sandwich and fish fry. Maple walnut ice cream with whipped cream after long day of hiking in heat felt really good.

Delicious home food made from local ingredients. Combines great ambience of traditional Americana diner (friendly and unassuming) with building upon the older food tradition to serve healthier versions. A gem!

Haha! Had to get my food from the truck because no inside dining at the moment. We all had masks on and got served very quickly. The food was super fresh and hot, just the way I like it. They have a bunch of picnic tables set up far apart so it's ok to eat there. Some people say in there cars and ate. I hope inside dining opens up before the winter season! 😊 Worth a visit.

Great food, nice people, reasonable price

Nice restaurant. We found this on our way to hogback mountain and what a nice surprise it was. Stopped in to see the inside the atmosphere felt great. Decided to stay for breakfast.The food was delicious.The wait time was short. Service fast and friendly. Stopped by this place on a fall Saturday for window service Ice Cream. Staff was very friendly, ice cream was great and the place was clean. The trash barrels are set up for recycling which is a plus too. Still want to try them for breakfast but for now , quite happy .

Excellent lovely cute old school diner....food super delicious and farm fresh...home made rye bread and strawberry jam was really good. Coffee really strong and yummy. Waffles was so soft and tasty....

Awesome food! Your favorite place you haven't been to yet. Cozy Diner with a warm staff. Well portioned plates that are sourced from their backyard or local farms. The sausage in the Cajun skillet was buttery and flavorful. The corned beef hash was second to none. To top it all off the coffee was strong without being bitter. I fell in love and I'll be coming back again and again. I just wish I had found this place sooner!

We stopped at a local garden shop and were recommended to have breakfast here.Waitress was very friendly and we asked for recommendations. Wife ordered blueberry pancakes and I had bacon and egg on toasted English muffin. So many blueberries in the pancakes and my sandwich had so many strips of bacon!Wonderful restaurant since 1939 and doesn't just serve breakfast. We noticed the night before the restaurant parking lot was full.The pictures don't the food justice.

Ordered Maple Syrup Walnut icecream. It is delicious and not very sweet which I like. Wonderful place. Will back for other flavors.
